Attorney Dr. Jürgen Mann works as Of Counsel at CREYDT.LAW and specialises in export control and sanctions law.
In the field of foreign trade law, Jürgen Mann advises companies on the various economic sanctions imposed by the European Union, such as those against Iran, Belarus, and Russia. This includes questions regarding the applicability of U.S. sanctions (primary and secondary sanctions) to the business activities of non-U.S. companies. His foreign trade law practice also extends to European and German anti-boycott law, as well as German investment control (FDI) in the context of M&A transactions.

In this context, Jürgen Mann supports internal and external investigations and inquiry proceedings, as well as voluntary self-disclosures arising from violations of foreign trade law provisions. A further focus of his practice is advising on the improvement of internal compliance programmes (ICP) and their practical implementation. This includes in particular the drafting and revision of trade compliance clauses for various types of contracts and sanctions scenarios, including their negotiation with the client’s external partners.
Jürgen Mann has been admitted to the German bar since 1993 and initially worked at a mid-sized law firm before joining the legal department of an internationally active construction group. He subsequently moved to the German subsidiary of one of the world’s largest telecommunications providers as in-house counsel in the areas of law, regulation, and real estate. For the greater part of his professional career, Jürgen Mann worked for Siemens AG, Legal & Compliance, where as a senior executive he served for many years as the central point of contact for all foreign trade law matters. He assumed this role upon joining Siemens Energy GmbH & Co. KG, where he continued until his departure from the company in early 2024.
Jürgen Mann studied law at the University of Mannheim, where he also obtained his doctorate on a topic in public construction law. The focus of his studies was on public economic law.
